Cricket Wireless is making a few changes in their network. In fact, one is quite major and it will be stretched trough all 2015 in three different phases and it consists in shutting down the CDMA network. One will consume in March and April, one May and June and the last in the middle of September. All customers who have Cricket Wireless SIM cards will easily switch to the GSM network, otherwise, they’ll have to contact the operator to know what they should do.

The capital city, first location without CDMA

Until that point, let us present the location in which this measure will be applicable starting March. We will present to you the cities and towns and the initials of the states from which they are. So, in the first shutting down period of the CDMA network will take place between March and April in: Washington DC, Little Rock, Fayetteville and Fort Smith (AR), Wilmington (DE), Chicago and Northern Illinois (IL), South Bend (IN), Baltimore (MD), Atlantic City (NJ), Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse (NY), Philadelphia (PA).

After this phase, the process will continue in May and June in the following locations: Wichita (KS), Albuquerque and Las Cruces (NM), Las Vegas (NV) and Oklahoma City and Tulsa (OK). In the end, the intention of Cricket Wireless to shut down the CDMA network will continue in August and September to all their locations not mentioned in the lists above. We shall see how will work the decision of the AT&T MVNO at the end of the moving process but we believe that they thought very well at their decision in order not to affect their customers in anyhow.
