Cell phone taxes that most operators have can give a lot of headaches to customers sometimes, especially because of rooming service. In some cases these customers aren’t regular ones and from them you expect less to make bloopers when it comes to charge their bill. Still, a recent example is that of Regis Labeaume, the mayor of Canadian city of Quebec, came back from his holydays with a bill of more than 20.000 dollars.

Got down to 6,881 after arguing

Labeaume was in vacation in Rome at the beginning of this year and after he spent some time in the United States of America. At the end of this trip, according to Mobile Syrup, the mayor racked 19,860 dollars in Rome, from which 11,800 on his iPad and the rest of 8,060 on his smartphone. Still, after arguing harshly with the carrier which he worked, his bill was cut down to just 6,881 dollars. Still he ensured the public that his company would pay for the costs instead of taxpayers.

"I am very angry!"

Instead, they’ll have to pay for the bill resulted from the trip in the U.S. when he used the roaming of his iPad for 2,106 dollars, because Labeaume stated that when he is in U.S. he is only for work, never in vacation.Regarding the misunderstood with his bill, the mayor of Quebec stated: “If you ask me why, I do not know. I’m very angry. I do not understand how cellphone companies allow this to happen… They told me I was using the 3G instead of the Wi-Fi. I’m not sure I understand everything”.
