Last month, in response to Obama's vocal support for Net Neutrality and common carrier classification, AT&T yelled foul. It stated that any such government decision will greatly impact its ability to roll out fiber networks throughout the USA.

The CEO of the company Randall Stephenson, announced that AT&T may halt the fiber plans because of uncertainty tied to potential net neutrality regulation urged by President Obama. It stated "AT&T simply cannot evaluate additional investment beyond its existing commitments until the regulatory treatment of broadband service is clarified."

This month however, the company is singing a different tune. AT&T announced it is committed to its initial project. On November 25th, it answered the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that fiber roll-out will continue as planned. Future clients in Nashville and other cities will likely rejoice, but this is the a "believe it when I see it" scenario.

AT&T's fiber network is named GigaPower. In April 2014 the company announced that it was rolling out the service to a total of 25 major metropolitan areas nationwide.
