App Annie the analytics company which tracks down the number of applications eligible for every smartphone operating system revealed that for the first time in the history, Google Play Store surpassed Apple’s Application Store. This happened in 2014, when a growth of over 50 percent helped the Android smartphones to come in front of devices which use iOS.

300,000 applications for Google

All major companies met an increase, but Google, with 300,000 applications comes first with 17 percent more than Apple. But this is quite understandable as 85 percent of the total smartphones in the World are using Android OS, so developers find it easy to make something to function with and for this kind of operating system. Still, this doesn’t mean this being necessary an advantage for Android applications developers.

Applications for Apple bring 60 percent more money!

Why I am saying this? Because other studies revealed that those who make applications for Apple earn much more money than do those who engineer apps for Google. The iPhone market looks more sophisticated when it comes to this type of services and the fulfilling of customers’ demands looks like bringing Apple applications makers with 60 percent more money than for those who develop apps for Google’s Android.

"What’s interesting is that although Apple continues to grow strongly, it’s really Google Play that’s growing. In 2014, the number of apps distributed through Google Play has doubled," mentioned the source about I wrote above.
