An awesome invention a couple of years ago when smartphones break the cell phone market, they are now very common and most important, look like a major part of our lives! In fact, when we don’t have the cell phone with us, nearby, especially if that device is a smartphone, things can become quite negative for our body. At least this thing is the result of a study made on iPhone users, which jumped to the conclusion that these people get a ton anxious when they don’t have the device with them.

More hearth beats and increased blood presure

The experiment conceded from many iPhone users who were placed in a room to solve puzzles and word searches. For those who don’t have the gadget with them and especially if they hear it ring and could not answer, the heart beats increases and so does the blood pressure. After, if the devices are given back to them, these features go back to normal and also, the study say that people who have their smartphones alongside them are doing better in solving puzzles and in searching words because they more relaxed. So, it is obvious that smartphone, and in this case, iPhone, addiction became as real as it can be in these days!

To complete to conclusions of these study, we will share with you some words delivered after. It is to mention that the study was put together by Russell B. Clayton, Glenn Leshner and Anthony Almond and published in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication. "The data tell an interesting and unique story about how iPhone separation and the inability to answer one's iPhone during cognitive tasks affects a variety of psychological outcomes. The data showed that the inability to answer one's iPhone while it was ringing activated the aversive motivational system (increases in heart rate and unpleasantness), and also led to a decline in cognitive performance."

"In contrast, when participants completed word-search puzzles with their iPhone in their possession, heart rate and blood pressure levels returned to baseline and cognitive performance increased. Our advice would be to carry your iPhone with you. But to silence your phone during cognitively demanding tasks (i.e., work, meetings, exams, etc.) in order to avoid any potential distractions that may reduce your attention throughout the day."
