T-Mobile is the only one from the Big Four cell phone service carriers from the United States which has the origin in another country. In the U.S., other companies that work under the T-Mobile brand are MetroPCS and GoSmart Mobile. All of these reached together more than 53 million subscribers in this part of the World and also bring 21.35 billion annual revenues. 

It entered the U.S. market in 2001

In Germany, the operator was named initially Deutsche Bundespost Telekom, name which was changed in 1995, as we said before, and one year after the privatization process started.
