Using the Internet may represent danger at every step for the devise from which you access it. Viruses are at every step and some of them can affect very badly your software and even hardware. Now, the same thing isn’t available only for PC, laptops or tablets, but also for cell phones, especially smartphones which have access to the internet. Statistics say that 63 percent of such devices users access the Internet and 1/3 of them use the phone as a primary tool to go online whenever needed.

McAfee Mobile Security, most wanted, but with gaps

That’s why, you have to ensure that your connection is secure and for this you need some specialized programs that help you feel safer while you navigate the web. One of the most important such free program for your smartphone is McAfee Mobile Security with which you can blacklist or whitelist text-messages and phone numbers, way in which you can get a pretty good anti-theft and anti-spam protection. Unfortunately, for this program it hasn’t a system of quarantine and on-access scanning which would also be at least as useful as the other characteristics possessed.

Sophos and Cheetah are alternatives

Not as popular as McAfee Mobile Security, but experts in quarantine are Sophos Mobile Security and also CheetahMobile Clean. First of the two, offers quarantine for suspicious files and scan file systems on demand, but doesn’t have a web interface and doesn’t have the ability to remote locate devices, like McAfee does. Cheetah also offers quarantine and other features which McAfee doesn’t have, but it can’t track lost or stolen devices in real time. Also, it can blacklist phone numbers, but when it comes to an anti-spam system it has a lot to ‘learn’ comparing the other two.
