As iPhones and Androids, BlackBerry 10 also has an efficient tracking system in the case that you have lost your phone, but it is very important to know and to be careful to turn on this option, because otherwise, if you lose your phone the chances for you to locate it are zero. It is called BlackBerry Protect and can be activated very simple.

Go firstly to the phone’s settings, where you can find this ‘BlackBerry Protect’ than flip its switch to ‘on’. Also, after you’ve done this, you also have to activate the ‘Location Services’. So, go also there with a simple ‘tap’ and make sure you switch it to ‘on’ before you go back to save the both changes which might be very useful at some point.

Now, supposing that you have lost your BlackBerry, after the activation of those two services was previously made, go and log in to the BlackBerry Protect website and after, click location. If everything is according to the initial plan and the service can find your phone, it will be surely located on a map. When you see it and if you are lucky enough to misplace it somewhere near you, activate the Play Sound option, which will make your phone ring loudly and so you will locate it without to many problems.

But perhaps it isn’t as close as you want it so you think it is a good idea to change the password and lock it. For this, it is necessary to select ‘Lock Device’ and this is it. Most radical measure might be the section ‘Wipe Device’. If you suspect somebody for stealing it, than it might be a good idea to try a factory reset. But, like it also happens with iPhone and Android, your BlackBerry couldn’t be located anymore with the ‘BlackBerry Protect’ service.
