Page Plus Cellular is a Verizon MVNO (service reseller) and it was recently absorbed by America Movil which also owns two other important operators, like Tracfone and Straight Talk.

Some important changes will take place in a few days for the Page Plus Cellular customers. Well, not really for the ones that already have a flashed phone under service, but especially for the new customers starting on the 15th of January 2015 looking to get a Page Plus Cellular service but have a flashed phone.

Rumored for several months

The changes which are about to happen are not a big surprise but only a confirmation of the rumors from the past half an year so. It will be, without a doubt, grandfathered, because their policy doesn’t forbid anybody to use the flashed phone which is now in service and want to keep it. We shall see how this restriction will shape the prepaid market in 2015.

Official statement

This is the official announcement made by the company: "There will be a policy change going into effect January 15th 2015, and we want to let you know now that you have time to prepare. At that time, our system will no longer allow the activation of devices that are not approved by Page Plus. This includes reprogrammed or flashed devices from other carriers, and all flashed 4G devices from any carrier".
