The intention of many smartphone equipment producers to thicken devices as much as possible, but also to increase, some way, the battery life. For this, in 2016, things might go in the right direction regarding this situation. For example, ARM want to introduce two new mobile chips which can allow manufacturers to create slimmed-down smartphones which will, most likely, be able to run faster and also longer. The names of the tools are Cortex-A72 and Mali-T880.

50 times faster!

Those are expected to come on market in 2016. To make an idea about what these can do, let us say that they can perform almost 50 times faster than CPU’s available only five years ago! About the company’s intention to launch these products later next year, Ian Ferguson, an executive from ARM delivered some words in a conference call: "I think innovation is accelerating in the phone space. We think the phone is becoming the primary compute platform."

Better version for gamers

From those two new chips, Mali-T880 is designed for better gaming and video conditions so this is great news for video games producers which might develop such tools that fit best in the smartphone users. Maybe you’ll tell us how can you see the project of ARM and what are your expectations regarding the new phones, considering that Cortex-A72 can perform 3.5 better than Cortex-A15 processor, which is the only type from this company which is widely used on mobile devices in present days.
