On some segments, Samsung got improvement even comparing to their main competitor, Apple, as far as we saw in some articles presented in the last days. But also Samsung has some problems which are linked especially to profit loss. 60 percent in only one year, that actually seems very worrying for the South Korean company. All these inconvenience are in direct comparison with what other less known companies are doing to endanger the giants from the market.

Xiaomi puts Samsung in danger

For example, the Chinese from Xiaomi are extending very fast and offer smartphones at about the same quality as Samsung offers but at prices that often are twice as cheaper or even less than half that the price of a Samsung device. This is why, the competition with Apple mustn’t be, at this moment, the major concern of Samsung but how do they manage to remain high. Of course, price cuts are applied, but the cell phone industry can’t remain the only one on which Samsung is thrusting, because in this situation they can have a lot of problems.

Samsung bought SmartThings

A fact which they definitely know at the beginning of this year and for which they are trying to implement new services, strategies and such stuff to help them regain the power which they had in the last years. So, they are preparing to invade the market with IoT or, the so called, Internet of things which mean that you can control stuff from your house such are lights or door locks through the Internet. For this, Samsung already bought last year a startup called SmartThings, which makes an IoT platform hardware makers can build into, for about 200 million dollars. The idea looks very well, but now we only have to wait and see how many people are willing to pay for adopting this strategy in their home.
